Any camera decision will naturally be influenced heavily by the price. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The X Typ 113 was launched at a somewhat lower price (by 22 percent) than the X-U Typ 113, which makes it more attractive for photographers on a tight budget. Both the X Typ 113 and the X-U Typ 113 have built-in prime lenses. Both optics have identical focal length and aperture specifications (23mm f/1.7). Both cameras offer the same maximum aperture.

Concerning the storage of imaging data, both the X Typ 113 and the X-U Typ 113 write their files to SDXC cards. The X-U Typ 113 supports UHS-I cards (Ultra High Speed data transfer of up to 104 MB/s), while the X Typ 113 cannot take advantage of Ultra High Speed SD cards.

Both the X Typ 113 and the X-U Typ 113 have been discontinued, but can regularly be found used on ebay.
