The price is, of course, an important factor in any camera decision. The listed launch prices provide an indication of the market segment that the manufacturer of the cameras have been targeting. The R5 Mark II was somewhat cheaper (by 4 percent) than the R5 C at launch, but both cameras fall into the same price category. One feature that differentiates the R5 Mark II and the R5 C is in-body image stabilization (IBIS). The R5 Mark II reduces the risk of handshake-induced blur with all attached lenses, while the R5 C offers no blur reduction with lenses that themselves do not provide optical image stabilization.

The reported shutter speed information refers to the use of the mechanical shutter. Yet, some cameras only have an electronic shutter, while others have an electronic shutter in addition to a mechanical one.
